For Digital Media Converter to list DivX in the list of available video compressor, you must have DivX (player) installed on your computer. You can download DivX from divx.com.

RE: How to convert dvr-ms to DivX
DivX is an AVI video compressor (codec). To convert to a DivX, you must select AVI as the "Convert To" format. You can then go to AVI settings and select DivX from the "Video Compressor" dropdown.

RE: Changing the Video Compressor
You can select from a number of video compressors that are pre-installed on Windows and well-suited for screen recordings.
My Screen Recorder does not support DivX video compressor since it is not designed for screen-recording. It causes audio-video synchronization problems.
If you trying to produce small-size recordings then you can use My Screen Recorder Pro, which allows you to convert to WMV using the Screen and Voice codecs. This produces the smallest screen-recording sizes available with good quality.

RE: Sound stops while playing DV AVI in Adobe Premier Pro
DV-AVI files are generally very large in size. We found that Adobe Premier Pro has a problem with file size greater than 2GB. One solution is to convert your file to a different format such as (normal) AVI using a video compressor like Cinepak Codec and Uncompressed for Audio.
The other option is to use Video Edit Magic, which is published by DeskShare. Video Edit Magic can handle DV-AVI file of sizes greater than 2GB. You can download a trial version of Video Edit Magic from the link:

RE: Ascending knocking sound
This problem is related to your PC's recording and playback settings. To fix this problem, make sure that you mute the Microphone for playback and select the Microphone for recording. This will eliminate the knocking sound.
To do so, follow these steps:
- In the task bar, double click on the `Volume' notification icon
- In the `Master Volume' dialog, point to the 'Options' menu and click 'Properties'
- Under
Adjust volume for', selectPlayback' - From
Show the following volume controls', checkMicrophone' - Click OK
- Under 'Microphone', check the 'Mute' option
- Again, point to the 'Options' menu and click 'Properties'
- Under
Adjust volume for', selectRecording' - From
Show the following volume controls', checkMicrophone' - Click OK
- Under 'Microphone', check the 'Select' option

RE: Playback speed
You can use the `Time-lapse' feature, available in My Screen Recorder Pro, to record video such that it plays back at higher speed.
For example, to record a video at 5fps and play it back at 10fps, follow these steps:
- On the Tools menu, click Settings
- Select the AVI Video tab.
- Under Frame options, select `Time-lapse'
- Click `Time-lapse Setup'
- Under
Record rate', specify 5 Frames per 1 second, which will makeMy Screen Recorder Pro' capture 5 frames in one second (5fps) - In the `Playback rate' box, specify 10 frames/second
- Click OK
Using these settings, you essentially playback a video file at twice its recorded frame rate, which doubles the videos playback speed. In other words, 10 frames are played back in 1 second instead of 5 frames.
If you expect your screen to refresh 2 times in one second, then set the
Record rate' at 2 Frames per 1 second. To playback this recorded video at, say, 2 times its actual speed, specifyPlayback Rate' as 4 frames per second. -
RE: Video and Audio out of Sync when converting MPEG2 to AVI
Converting MPEG 2 file to AVI creates a file with large dimensions. In this case, selecting the correct AVI compressor becomes crucial. We found that Cinepak video compressor and Uncompressed audio gives the best results.
Newer or faster PCs generally do not show any noticeable synchronization problems in the output AVI file. This problem only occurs when playing AVI files on slower machines.

RE: Converted file size related to DVD playback
The standard DVD holds exactly 120 minutes requiring 4.7GB. This is the most compatible format.
Digital Media Converter currently does not support squeezing more time on a standard DVD. In future versions, we are planning to support longer playing modes for DVDs.

RE: Editing videos and output to DVD
Digital Media Converter is a converter tool. For editing, you require an editing tool like DeskShare Video Edit Magic. To know more about Video Edit Magic, visit:
https://www.deskshare.com/vem.aspxWith Video Edit Magic, you can edit all types of files, add video transitions and effects and output directly to MPEG 2 (DVD) format. Then you can use any burning software to create the DVD video.

RE: Variable dimension DVR-MS files
This problem happens when the frame dimension change in the video. Digital Media Converter determines the dimension of the conversion using the very first frame of the video. If the frame dimension is less than other frames in the video then the conversion ends up losing some portion of the video.
To fix this, you have to change the way you record the videos. Try looking up a solution for switching off Variable Bit-rate Encoding.

RE: Converted file size related to DVD playback
The file size of an MPEG 2 video does not determine what you can store on to a DVD. It is the duration of the MPEG 2 video that determines the amount of video on a DVD.
The reason we want a low file size is for PC storage or data-DVD storage, which can only play on a PC. For a video DVD that can playback on a DVD player, the only determining factor is the duration.
Make sure that you are creating a video DVD and not a data DVD using your burning software.

RE: Forcefully Stop Recording
When the alerts are running, The "Start Monitoring with Alerts" button under the Preview window changes to "Stop Monitoring".
-
RE: Forcefully Stop Recording
You can stop recording along with all running alerts by clicking "Stop Monitoring" button. This option is available even when you alerts are triggered by Motion or Noise Detection.
-
RE: Settings for DVR-MS conversion
Constant bit-rates will keep the bit-rate constant even when the motion in a video varies. Even Variable bit-rate encoding will peak when motion content in a video is high.
This type of problem occurs on a slower machine. Try playing the same video on a faster PC and see if you still experience blocky videos.
Digital Media Converter does not expose the internal codec properties of XviD or DivX.
