Support Forum Session 188 Bug 1 Title Notifications page Filter still offers Tags after tags were removed forum-wide Description From the forum home page, open the notification icon, then choose All notifications to open the Notifications page. The Filter control defaults to All. Opening it shows options including Topics, replies, tags, categories, chats, group chats, public chats, follows, upvotes, awards, and mentions. Tags are not part of the Deskshare support-forum model. They were removed from other surfaces by business decision. Keeping Tags in the notifications filter is inconsistent and must be removed. Steps to Reproduce 1. Open: https://test.deskshare.com/forums/ 2. On the home page, tap the notification icon. 3. In the notifications popup, choose All notifications. 4. On the Notifications page, locate the Filter control (default: All). 5. Open the Filter dropdown. 6. Observe that Tags is listed among the filter options. Actual Behavior • The Notifications Filter dropdown includes Tags. • Tags are already removed or hidden everywhere else on the forum by business decision. • Users can select a Tags notification filter for a feature that is not offered. Expected Behavior • Remove Tags from the Notifications page Filter options. • The filter list must only include notification types that match features Deskshare actually offers. • Behavior must stay consistent with the forum-wide no-tags decision already applied on other pages. Bug 2 Title New Topic composer shows Select category while the dropdown lists products Description From the forum, open Unread with no unread topics so the page shows There are no unread topics. Click New Topic to open the compose dialog. At the top left of that dialog, the control is labeled Select category. Opening it shows the product list, not a generic category taxonomy. The label does not match the content. Deskshare's support forum treats these entries as products, and other filters already use product wording. The composer control must say product, not category. Steps to Reproduce 7. Open: https://test.deskshare.com/forums/ 8. Click the Unread icon in the sub-navigation. 9. Ensure there are no unread topics so the page shows There are no unread topics. 10. Click New Topic. 11. In the compose popup, look at the top-left selector control. 12. Observe that it says Select category. 13. Open the control and observe that the list contains products. Actual Behavior • The New Topic composer selector is labeled Select category. • The dropdown list shows Deskshare products. • The label does not match what the user is selecting. Expected Behavior • The composer selector must read Select product (or Select a product), not Select category. • Wording must stay consistent with other product selectors on the forum. • The dropdown may continue to list the same product entries; only the incorrect category label must change. Open support forum in rOpen support Forum URL in a test mode. And that is also open on a mobile responsive mode. Then scroll to the bottom status bar and there observe that. The bottom. Status bar. UI is not properly aligned. The 24H2 update in Windows 11 introduced a new Virtualization security update (VBS) that blocks software virtualization in applications like IP Camera Viewer and Security Monitor Pro. We have a small app that will turn off the setting that prevents the software from running. You can download it here: https://deskshare.com/download/DisableVirtualizationBlocker.exe After running the app, you will need to reboot your PC and IP Camera Viewer will operate again.

You can access cameras added in Security Monitor Pro remotely from anywhere using Remote Access. To view the cameras directly on your mobile device, you have to use Security Monitor Pro with an Android app - IP Camera Monitor. First, you can start by installing an Android mobile app – IP Camera Monitor on your device from the Google Play Store. To configure settings for remote access, open Security Monitor Pro and click the ‘Remote Access’ icon from the toolbar. Then select an option to ‘Enable Android mobile app access’. Note the ID and password shown on the remote access dialog and click OK to save the settings. [image: SMPpost6255.png] Next, open IP Camera Monitor, click Add Camera and select ‘Connect to Security Monitor Pro’. Enter the ID and password from remote access dialog in the login screen and click Connect. You will now see all the connected cameras from Security Monitor Pro on your Android mobile device. You can remotely control actions such as monitoring, video recording, and capturing a photo. Access recorded media files and event logs directly from your device.

The April update of Windows 10 prevents older versions of Security Monitor Pro from running correctly. Please download and install the latest version of the software. The newly downloaded version will work on your Windows 10 PC.

By default, Windows limits a broadcast to 5 simultaneous connections. You can modify this number by editing the Windows Registry. This is a little technical and if you are not familiar with the Registry I don't recommend you try this without help from someone who is comfortable doing this work. To increase the number of simultaneous connections: Click Windows Start > Run then type in 'regedit' and click OK. Search for the following key; HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Microsoft\Windows Media Tools\Encoder\MaxClientConnections The default is 5. You can change that to whatever number you want to allow to connect, keeping in mind the limit of the bandwidth available to the PC that is broadcasting from Security Monitor Pro.

You can use the lock application feature in Security Monitor Pro to prevent anyone from making unwanted changes to the application or its settings. To lock the application settings, click on the **Settings **icon on the toolbar and go to the **Security **tab. Select the Lock application with a password to prevent users from changing the settings under the ‘Secure Access’ section. Set the password and click OK to save the changes. [image: SMPpost6111.jpg] As soon as you click the Ok button on the settings dialog, the application settings will be locked. Only a user with the correct password can access the application. The application settings cannot be changed without a password.

Select the camera name from the list and click on the Configure Upload Settings button. On the FTP Upload settings dialog, check the After uploading, delete media files from this PC option. Security Monitor Pro automatically detects all the ONVIF and UPnP cameras in your network. If your camera is ONVIF compatible, then the Brand and Model of the camera will be detected automatically. Most new cameras have ONVIF support. To see a list of all the cameras detected by Security Monitor Pro, click the Add Camera button on the toolbar. On the New Camera Settings dialog, all auto-discoverable cameras will be listed in the Cameras Found dropdown list. [image: SMPpost6070.jpg] When the camera search is complete, select a camera from the list to add it to Security Monitor Pro. If the camera is not listed, then it may not support ONVIF or UPnP. You can add the camera manually by selecting the camera brand and model from the list. If you don't find the camera in the list, then contact us to add support for your camera.
